For the Love of Food and Water
Students will be given a chart of foods and the types of nutrients in them and the ways those nutrients benefit them, both short and long term. We will then have a discussion about how often they find themselves eating the foods that their body requires to stay healthy and energized. We will also discuss the importance of water consumption and tips on how to make drinking more water easier and more exciting. Each participant will be given a journal to begin keeping track of the food they eat and how much water they drink.
Facts about Sweets
Students will be given a hands on experiment about sugar, how much of it is in the foods they eat, and the ways that sugar affect the body. Students will begin categorizing the foods they eat into beneficial and damaging in their journals. Students will be challenged to be more aware of the things that go into their bodies and how those things affect their well being, stress levels, and sleep patterns.
Building Healthy Habits
Students will learn about the foods that impact their appearance (hair, skin, nails) the most and how to incorporate those foods into their diets. We will also discuss other health habits (sun protection, drug and alcohol use, exercise, sleep, and water consumption) that impact how our bodies feel and look.

Artist Bio - Anna Hansen
Anna Hansen, originally from northern Utah, works as an art educator in the Fullerton school district. She received a BFA in Printmaking and a Certificate in Book Arts in 2012. She has shown her work in galleries in Salt Lake City, as well as in portfolios in Chicago, Philadelphia, and New Orleans. Anna is now joining the company of the artists at the Magoski Art colony and aspires to inspire artists old and new.
