Girl Scouts - Woodworking Cadettes

Price: $60 - $8 materials fee is payable at the first day



Summary: Students will learn the basics of woodworking with a practical focus on the ability to use their skills in the home setting.  Additionally, they will explore the endless possibilities of woodcraft as a way to explore their artist creativity.  This workshop will meet all the necessary requirements for the woodworking badge. 



Day One:  Students will be introduced to a myriad of woodworking tools, from basic to advanced and visit a wood artist’s shop to learn the functions of the wide variety of tools and equipment.  There will be an emphasis on safety practices and importance of choosing the right tools for the job. Instruction and practice with basic tools will also be part of this first session. 


Day Two:  Once familiar with the tools, the second focus will be on function.  The focus during this session will be how to use those tools to achieve different results for various tasks including simple home repairs, small construction projects and art.


Day Three:  With the help of their instructor, each student will be able to choose from a selection of small projects to build and take home.

Artist Bio - Brandon Monk Munoz

Brandon is a professional woodworker with 15 years experience. He specializes in reclaimed wood furniture. He also created  sculptures and art installations with wood and other building materials. He lives in Fullerton with his wife and 4 children.
